The 'Reluctant' Saviour

It's once again a season to remember our Lord and saviour Jesus, and many creatives have not disappointed in their display of the events of the season.

One of such creative videos caught my attention, and as a writer per excellence, a lot of ideas are determined to be poured out.

I know that many Christians frown at any comical display of Christ-related issues. But, suffice it to say that no matter your stance or opinion, drama is a powerful informative and entertaining channel. And, like every great art, this skit by IG: @randypeterz while entertaining, made me ponder on the ramifications of what Christians would have faced had Christ Jesus being reluctant or refused to die for our transgressions.

Have ever wondered about that? And, as a Christian, does it scare you to imagine Christianity without the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus?

Well let's not allow fear to rule us, and embrace optimism. Our optimistic nature have decided to appreciate a few significance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Significance of Christ's death
  1. Fulfilment of prophecy. Isaiah 55:1-9, Matthew 27:9-52

2. Access to God. Ex 26:31-37, Hebrew 10:19-25

3. For our healing. Isaiah 53:5

4. Proof of His endless love. John 3:16

5. Proof of His supremacy. 1st Corinthians 15:15-20

6. Introduction of the new covenant. 1st Corinthians 11:23-26

7. Redemption from sin's curse. Galatians 3:13-14, 1st Corinthians 15:21-23

8. Christians' everlasting hope. Matthew 27:50-53

So as we celebrate this season, endeavour to; RAP
  • reflect on the significance of the season.
  • appreciate God's endless love.
  • ponder on how to be better.
